What you can do An International Climate Change conference in February 2005 declared that, “Mankind is sleepwalking to disaster.” Well, not everyone is! I'm not and the very fact that you're reading this means that you're not either! While it's true that one person alone cannot make a huge difference – it's also true that institutionalised stupidity can be challenged by a small number of people going it alone. Like one lemming turning on its heels and walking away from the cliff, others will surely follow. There are actions we can start taking – and actually enjoy taking – now. There are efficiencies in the way we heat, light and power our homes. We can experiment with lower-carbon transport options. We can reduce how often we fly. Most of these things are ‘feel-good’ actions – and they save you money too. The trick is simply to ensure that whatever you do, you do something. Carbon is saved when action is taken, not when a good intention is conceived. So, do you want to get started?
